Information about the partnership
Kyrgyzstan’s economy has grown strongly in recent years due to geopolitical upheavals. The Central Asian country offers German SMEs the prospect of entering new business sectors, such as logistics, energy and tourism. The Partnering in Business with Germany programme connects Kyrgyz companies with internationalisation potential with German companies looking to access the Kyrgyz market.
Focus Areas and Cooperation Potentials of Kyrgyzstan
Bilateral trade between Germany and Kyrgyzstan has picked up recently – from a low level. Kyrgyzstan offers great potential in the areas of tourism and hydropower.
In addition, there are opportunities for cooperation in the Kyrgyz agricultural sector, for example for the production and export of organic food. German companies are mainly exporting motorised vehicles and motorised vehicle components, chemicals, machinery and measurement and control technology. Germany mainly imports raw materials, food and non-ferrous metals from Kyrgyzstan.
Business in Kyrgyzstan– Opportunities for German Companies
Kyrgyzstan’s key economic sectors are mining, agriculture, services and tourism. The country offers German companies numerous opportunities in sustainable agriculture, hydropower projects, and tourism development. In particular, German SMEs can benefit from Kyrgyzstan’s strategic location within the context of the ‘New Silk Road’ initiative and the free trade advantages offered by the Eurasian Economic Union. This creates new possibilities for cooperation and supply in logistics. Diversifying electricity production also opens up numerous opportunities for business cooperation.
Trade relations between Germany and Kyrgyzstan are growing steadily. Germany mainly exports machinery, electronic devices, vehicles and chemicals to Kyrgyzstan. In return, Germany imports agricultural products, textiles, and small quantities of precious metals.
Industry Focus and Participant Profiles
Partnering in Business with Germany is open to executives from all sectors. Currently, there is great demand for sectoral groups on smart farming, green technologies, food production and processing, healthcare, and programmes especially targeted at women entrepreneurs in leading positions.
