Political partner for the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action: Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan has rich oil and gas resources and is the largest economy in South Caucasus. Its economic policy focus is on speeding up economic development beyond the oil and gas sector. The country is pushing for greater use of renewable energy sources in electricity generation.
Azerbaijan is currently investing in agro-industrial parks for agricultural and food production. It is establishing a value chain for the extraction and processing of iron ore. The services, information and communication, and tourism sectors are growing. There is great potential for cooperation between companies from Germany and Azerbaijan in the areas of water, waste water, and waste management.
Partnering in Business with Germany is open to managers from all sectors. Companies from Azerbaijan are particularly interested in industry-specific groups and issues such as green technologies, IT, digitisation and process optimisation, food production and technology, smart farming and healthcare.
Former programme participants use social media to connect with one another; this is coordinated by one of the programme’s former participants. An ‘alumni club’ has been set up and the registration of an alumni association initiated
