Information about the partnership

Chile presents significant economic prospects and opportunities for German companies. Partnering in Business with Germany helps German SMEs enter the Chilean market by connecting them with executives from various industries seeking international expansion. This programme strengthens economic ties between Germany and Chile while fostering B2B collaboration and networking among SMEs across different sectors.

Key areas for cooperation include green tech: renewable energy and green hydrogen. Additionally, there is growing demand for solutions that enhance productivity and efficiency—particularly in water, energy, and resource use, as well as for new technologies that facilitate the extraction of more technically challenging deposits.

Focus Areas and Cooperation Potentials of Chile

Chile’s consistent approach to climate action and its goal to position itself as the most affordable global provider of green hydrogen from wind and solar power are important drivers for innovation. Another key vision is the development of forward-looking digital and sustainable solutions. This is likely to open up good opportunities for German companies.

Business in Chile – Opportunities for German Companies

Chile offers significant economic prospects and opportunities, driven by its abundant natural resources and favourable conditions for renewable energy generation. These advantages position the country as a key player in the production of E-fuels and green hydrogen, which in turn contribute to the rapid growth of its green tech sector.

Chile requires machines, technologies, and skilled professionals for waste management at all levels. While the market is competitive and still in its early stages, there is particularly strong demand for machines, systems, technologies, and expertise in waste sorting, processing, and treatment, especially from Germany. Additionally, Chile’s rich copper and lithium deposits, along with excellent conditions for wind and solar energy, make the country an attractive location for future green tech projects, such as the production of green hydrogen.

With a deep understanding of local market dynamics and a focus on innovation, German companies can leverage Chile’s growth prospects to build long-term business partnerships. Establishing a strong local network is crucial for gaining a foothold, as Chile offers numerous opportunities for networking events that foster valuable business contacts.

Industry Focus and Participant Profiles

Partnering in Business with Germany is open to executives from all sectors. With Chile, the focus is on the energy sector, the food industry and mining. Since 2019, a special emphasis has been placed on encouraging executives from the green economy – i.e. the renewable energy, energy efficiency and circular economy sectors – to take part in the programme. In order to strengthen regional networking, groups bringing together Chilean and Mexican executives are being offered.

Chile set up its own alumni network  in 2021. ASOGICH networks actively with German institutions in Chile (Chilean-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Frauenhofer Institute, Germany Trade and Invest etc.), thus ensuring continued access to the German market for former participants of the programme.
