The focus of this year’s event was on European markets. What countries offer new sales opportunities for companies in Hesse? What markets are suitable for production and procurement? Experts of the network of bilateral chambers of commerce gave practical answers to such questions. Furthermore, the Foreign Trade Day Hesse was a platform for numerous discussions, workshops and expert presentations on topical issues related to international trade, e.g. compliance in supply chains.
PG presents itself at the Foreign Trade Day Hesse
The 7th Foreign Trade Day Hesse under the motto “Regional networks – global success” took place at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) Frankfurt on 9 July 2024. Partnering in Business with Germany (PG) also participated in the event on international trade with the aim to make its services more visible for small and medium-sized enterprises in the German state of Hesse.
Partnering in Business with Germany was one of the exhibitors at the Foreign Trade Day Hesse. The PG team and staff members of the relevant division at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) used the opportunity to network with SMEs of Hesse and with representatives of the German business community. In addition, German enterprises and multipliers gained insights into the benefits of the programme. Dirk S. Polte, General Manager of Fieger Lamellenfenster GmbH (Fieger Louvre Windows Ltd), describes his experience with PG as follows: “We are an internationally oriented innovative company. Last year, we exported 80% of our products. Groups from foreign companies have repeatedly visited our firm in the context of the programme. These hand-picked contacts with international managers are very important for business initiations.”
Ulrich Niemann, head of the division responsible for PG at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, confirmed that the motto of the Foreign Trade Day Hesse was put into practice during the event and that lively discussions took place at the PG stand. He said: “We want to make the Partnering in Business with Germany programme even better known among export-oriented German enterprises as a successful instrument of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action to promote foreign trade and investment. The Foreign Trade Day Hesse provides a good opportunity for this, and we used it to present ourselves to companies, associations and chambers and to engage in a dialogue.”
