Partnership with Ukraine extended: continuation of the cooperation in the context of "Partnering in Business with Germany"

Ukraine has been a partner country of Partnering in Business with Germany since 2001 and was thus one of the first countries to join the programme. A joint declaration of intent to continue the cooperation was signed in Kyiv on 29 January 2025. The aim is to further deepen the business relations between German and Ukrainian companies and to strengthen the strategic collaboration.

The declaration of intent was signed by Mr Martin Jäger, German Ambassador, and Ms Yulia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine. In the current challenging times, this is an important signal of support to Ukrainian companies. Mr Jäger said: “I am delighted that you and I were able to sign today the declaration of intent to extend the cooperation with Ukraine in the context of the Partnering in Business with Germany programme, which also makes an important contribution to rebuilding the Ukrainian economy, by another three years.”

Despite Russia’s ongoing war of aggression, the Ukrainian economy is characterised by dynamism. This offers numerous possibilities for German companies – especially in the fields of technologies, consumer and capital goods, and services.

Since the beginning of the partnership, around 1,800 Ukrainian business executives participated in the programme. Ukrainian enterprises continue to be interested in working together with German partners and offer numerous possibilities for economic and innovative synergies. In order to foster this dynamism, further groups are planned to participate in 2025 with a focus on mechanical engineering, the construction industry, food processing, the healthcare industry and GreenTech. The continuation of cooperation in the context of the programme underlines the common efforts to strengthen Ukraine’s economy.
