Partnering in Business with Germany promotes foreign trade with companies from Uzbekistan

Opening the 6th meeting of the German-Uzbek steering committee of Partnering in Business with Germany in Tashkent on 28 August 2024, Mr Tengiz Asanov, deputy head of the department for investment climate and rating at the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, said: “Germany has always been one of the most reliable, important and versatile partners of Uzbekistan regarding trade, business, technologies and investment.”

In Uzbekistan, Partnering in Business with Germany is appreciated in particular as a real win-win instrument for the promotion of foreign trade between SMEs of both countries. The focus is on German experience and technologies in the fields of the food industry / smart farming, healthcare, the textile industry, digitisation, renewable energy and energy efficiency.

Uzbek enterprises are very interested in the programme. Highlighting the benefits of the programme for these companies, Tengiz Asanov said: “Partnering in Business with Germany has not only improved the skills of Uzbek business executives, but also helped them to get familiar with modern management techniques and practices.”

Mr Ulrich Niemann, head of the division for Partnering in Business with Germany at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, underlined that the programme promotes long-term business relations between German and Uzbek companies. He said: “During the meeting of the joint steering committee in Tashkent, there was a lot of inspiration and motivation on both sides to advance the programme together, also in light of the presentations by successful participants.”

Two participants of the international group “Women in Business” 2023 and Mr Mirkamol Mirsaliev, co-founder of Aziya immunopreparat LLC, presented their successful cooperation projects with German enterprises. Mr Mirsaliev’s company is specialised in the development, production and sale of immunobiological medicines, including bacteriophages, to combat pathogens causing infectious diseases in humans.The Uzbek manager signed an agreement with a German company with the aim to produce polyvalent bacteriophages in Germany and export them to other European countries from there.

On the day after the meeting of the steering committee, Mr Mirsaliev invited the participants to visit his company, Answering the question as to why he wants to invest in Germany, he said: “We have chosen Germany because it is one of the leading economies worldwide and  has a great potential for exports. We would be very proud to be able to export our products from Germany to countries all over the world.”
