Networking, innovation and new business opportunities

The smarter E Europe, Europe’s largest alliance of exhibitions for the energy sector, used Partnering in Business with Germany to bring together international and German companies for long-term cooperation. Over the course of three days in early May 2025, the programme presented its diverse array of services for the German and global economy alike. Company leaders from Vietnam and Egypt were also able to use this opportunity to make targeted business contacts with German companies from the energy sector.

It’s clear that there is great international interest in the Partnering in Business with Germany programme. The programme’s booth was well-visited, and many representatives from companies around the world stopped by to get information about doing business in Germany. Intensive business discussions with attendees enabled possibilities for cooperation to be identified and first contacts for potential business ventures to be made. “These direct, face-to-face discussions are a core part of the Partnering in Business with Germany programme. The smarter E Europe offers an excellent venue for making this happen,” confirmed Markus Weichert of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.

A key topic for German companies was how they can best make targeted contacts with international companies in partnering countries. To facilitate this, the programme offers a registration portal that enables targeted networking and meeting scheduling for business-to-business (B2B) talks. The conference also offered companies the chance to meet directly with representatives from Vietnamese and Egyptian companies attending the conference as part of their participation in the programme.

Successful B2B talks about green technology

A core component of the conference was the acceleration of integrated energy solutions. Against this backdrop, a Vietnamese delegation focused on green technologies met with German companies active in photovoltaics, battery storage, the charging infrastructure, energy management and networked systems.

One particularly useful contact for the Vietnamese programme participants was with SL Rack GmbH, which manufactures sustainable assembly systems for photovoltaics installations. The Vietnamese managers were able to get a first-hand look at full-assembly solutions relevant for the Vietnamese market, and agreed on further steps for successful cooperation. The conference also saw the start of another first cooperation talk between the Bach Khoa Group (BK Group) from Vietnam and the German company INSYS icom GmbH, which offers remote industrial maintenance solutions. Both parties indicated interest in pursuing further cooperation.

Mohamed El-Sheikh, a board member of the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, accompanied the Egyptian and Vietnamese delegation during the conference. The renewables expert was very satisfied with the results of the conference visit: “Vietnam has ambitious goals to boost renewable energies and achieve climate neutrality. The careful selection of the participants for this group – the ones who will certainly contribute to shaping a sustainable future for Vietnam – is impressive. Vietnamese potential and eagerness combined with leading German technologies is sure to be a successful mix.”
