Networking event in Chişinău: face-to-face encounters and AI strengthen German-Moldovan business relations

The future of Moldovan-German business cooperation builds on the combination of technological innovation and personal contacts. The Partnering in Business with Germany programme makes an indispensable contribution to this – as a catalyst for knowledge transfer, networking and economic integration.

More than 50 alumni from Moldova, high-ranking guests and experts met in Chişinău on 12 June 2026 to attend a networking event in the context of the Partnering in Business with Germany programme. The event focused on dialogue and the presentation of best practice examples in a mini exhibition and interactive formats to discuss key factors for successful cooperation. The focus was on the growing significance of AI in the business world and its specific possible applications for Moldovan enterprises.

AI as a game changer for German-Moldovan cooperation

The event showed the impact of artificial intelligence on the cooperation between Moldovan and German companies. The alumni who attended the event acknowledged the enormous potential of AI-based tools, e.g. in the field of the automated search for potential business partners in Germany in a rapid, precise and resource-conserving manner. The use of AI software can also speed up correspondence without quality losses. In addition, it helps companies to evaluate market trends and make strategic decisions.

In spite of the technological progress, Maximilian Födinger, expert for artificial intelligence and coach, highlighted the irreplaceable role of personal contacts. He said: “Face-to-face continues to be the foundation of long-term and trusting business relations. Technologies can optimise processes – but trust is created in direct dialogue.” This makes the Partnering in Business with Germany programme so valuable – it networks potential business partners and provides a platform for B2B talks and thus for the establishment of long-term partnerships.

Driving force for economic development and European integration

In his speech, Oleg Bivol, State Secretary at the Ministry for Economic Development and Digitalisation of the Republic of Moldova, underlined the strategic importance of the programme for the Moldovan economy. He emphasised that the programme helps domestic companies with excellent experts possessing modern skills not only to safeguard the viability and efficiency of the enterprises, but also to pave the way for a sustainable management and the successful integration into the European and global economies. He also underlined that the continuous implementation of the programme strengthens bilateral cooperation and provides proof of the shared commitment to deepen economic relations, promote exports and foster the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurial spirit among Moldovan companies. Mr Bivol said: “I am convinced that our economic future is European. Targeted activities like this event help us to strengthen partnerships which lead us on this path. Our vision is clear: a modern, strong economy based on European values.”

The Republic of Moldova is currently undergoing fundamental economic reforms which offer clear opportunities for fast growth in a free and open economy. The PG programme makes an important contribution to this as it provides access for Moldovan enterprises to German expertise, networks and innovative solutions.
